Tigers Activate Jake Rogers and Designate Tomas Nido
The Detroit Tigers have activated catcher Jake Rogers from the 10-day injured list, while designating Tomas Nido for assignment, ahead of Tuesday night’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Rogers, 30, was out of action for 38 games due to a left oblique strain, an injury he suffered on April 8.
The catcher is in manager A.J. Hinch’s lineup for Tuesday’s game, batting ninth and catching for left-handed pitcher Tarik Skubal.
“I feel good. I’ve missed the guys and the game. It was good to be back last week in Toledo and I feel good to be here in St. Louis,” Rogers stated.

Nido, for his part, batted for 11 hits in 35 at-bats in 11 games with Detroit and pitched 1 and two-thirds innings without allowing runs in Monday night’s loss against the Cardinals in St. Louis, with a score of 11-4.
