Roki Sasaki to the injured list with shoulder issues

The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed rookie pitcher Roki Sasaki on the injured list due to right shoulder inflammation.

The right-hander has a 1-1 record with a 4.72 ERA in eight starts. He has accumulated 24 strikeouts in 34 and a third innings, limiting opposing hitters to a .225 average.

The 23-year-old player, originally from Japan, joined the Dodgers in January, after spending the last four years with the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Japanese Professional Baseball League.

This is the latest loss for the Dodgers’ rotation. Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow are also on the injured list, although Clayton Kershaw is expected to make his season debut on Saturday.
