Pablo López, Twins Pitcher, Out with Shoulder Injury

The Minnesota Twins’ right-handed pitcher, Pablo López, will be out of action for 8 to 12 weeks due to a Grade 2 strain in his right shoulder.

The team announced Wednesday night that Lopez suffered a teres major muscle injury in his throwing shoulder. This injury forced him to leave his Tuesday start against the Athletics.

López’s return to training could take up to four weeks. In his last start, Lopez pitched five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks, while striking out four batters. He left the game against the Athletics due to a right shoulder discomfort.

I tried to stay loose, we had a long inning. Then I went out and did my three warm-up pitches (before the sixth) at low and medium intensity, and I felt the same. If it felt like that, then if I try to make a maximum effort pitch to start the inning, you wonder what could happen.
