Mookie Betts Absent from Game vs. Red Sox Due to Personal Matters

The Dodgers’ star outfielder, Mookie Betts, did not travel with the team and will not participate in Friday’s game against the Red Sox in Boston, according to manager Dave Roberts, who informed the media. Betts is dealing with a personal matter. Roberts indicated that he is not sure if Betts will be available for Saturday’s game, although he is expected to arrive in Boston around the start of the game.

“There might be some things he needs to deal with personally. Everything is fine with him, but we’ll see,” Roberts commented.

The eight-time All-Star and former American League MVP owns a .290/.369/.514 batting line with 282 home runs and 876 RBIs in 1,475 games for the Red Sox (2014-2019) and the Dodgers (2020-25). He won a World Series title with Boston in 2018 and two with the Dodgers, in 2020 and 2024.
