Langeliers returns to action with the Athletics after injury in MLB

TAMPA, Fla. – Shea Langeliers returns to action with the Athletics after overcoming an injury that kept him out of play for three and a half weeks.

The veteran receiver was sidelined due to a strain in his left oblique.

Langeliers was reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Monday, and was included in the starting lineup for the first game of the three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Additionally, the Athletics made moves on their roster, incorporating right-handed pitcher Justin Sterner and outfielder Colby Thomas from Triple-A Las Vegas.

In the corresponding move, outfielder JJ Bleday, catcher Willie MacIver, and right-handed pitcher Tyler Ferguson were optioned to the minors.

Langeliers, 27 years old, suffered the injury on June 5th when missing a pitch from Kody Funderburk of Minnesota.

During his rehabilitation in Las Vegas, Langeliers had an outstanding performance, batting 8 for 13 with a home run and four RBIs in three games.

Selected in the first round of the 2019 amateur draft, Langeliers has a batting average of .237 with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs in 56 games with the Athletics.
