Víctor Pérez Joins LIV Golf: The First Signing of the Year

Professional golf is experiencing a new change with the incorporation of Victor Perez into the ranks of LIV Golf. The French player becomes the first golfer to leave the PGA Tour to join the Saudi Arabian-backed league, as announced by the organization last Tuesday. Pérez, who had joint membership in the PGA Tour and the European Tour, with three titles in the latter, has decided to take this step. This year, his participation in tournaments outside the PGA Tour was limited to the French Open. His best result on the PGA Tour was a tie for ninth place at the RBC Canadian Open. Pérez will take the place of Frederik Kjettrup, who was relegated from LIV Golf after not finishing among the top 48 on the points list. Faced with the possibility of losing his card, Perez, currently 108th in the FedEx Cup standings, withdrew from the RSM Classic on Tuesday.

Joining the Cleeks Golf Club for the 2026 season feels like joining the next great chapter in golf, as this club continues to push boundaries, performing at the highest level and bringing fresh energy and vision to the game.
