Stacy Lewis Announces Her Retirement from the LPGA at the End of the Season

American golfer Stacy Lewis, a two-time major champion and former world number one, has confirmed that this will be her last season on the LPGA Tour. Lewis, 40, made the announcement through an extensive social media post, where he expressed that his body tells him it’s time to leave professional golf.

“I never in a million years would have thought my golf journey would continue into 2025, but the time has come to put the clubs away.”

Lewis’ golf career is filled with notable achievements. She entered the LPGA Tour in 2009, after an outstanding career at the University of Arkansas, and achieved 13 victories throughout her career.

• 2013 Women’s British Open Champion.

Lewis was named LPGA Tour Player of the Year twice (2012 and 2014) and ranks 14th on the all-time money list, with more than $14 million accumulated in 374 events. In addition, she participated in four Solheim Cup teams as a player and then captained the team that defeated Europe in September 2024.

“I have nurtured the LPGA Tour as if it were my own child and I am very proud of the progress we have made, but to my fellow players, we are not finished!”, she wrote. “I hope you all continue to push the tour and do everything you can to help on and off the course.”
