Annika Sorenstam Leads U.S. Senior Women’s Open with a Standout Opening Round

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Golfer Annika Sorenstam positioned herself at the top of the U.S. Senior Women’s Open after a remarkable first round, finishing with a score of 3 under par, 70 strokes, at the San Diego Country Club. Sorenstam, who already has a championship in this tournament in 2021, and multiple U.S. Women’s Open titles to her name, once again demonstrated her skill on the course. The 54-year-old Swedish golfer has 72 LPGA Tour victories.

“I am very happy with this first round. I felt very solid from tee to green. I had good approach shots, which is very helpful on this course,” commented Sorenstam.
