Patrick Reed Wins LIV Golf Dallas After Dramatic Playoff

Golfer Patrick Reed conquered the title of the LIV Golf Dallas, after an exciting playoff that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The event, held at the Maridoe Golf Club, culminated in an agonizing victory for Reed, who achieved his first triumph in the league funded by Saudi Arabia since joining in 2022. Reed, who started the final round with a three-stroke lead, experienced a moment of difficulty by registering a 75 (+3). However, luck smiled on him when Jinichiro Kozuma made a bogey on the 18th hole and then tied on the final hole, leading to a playoff with Reed, Louis Oosthuizen and Paul Casey. In the first extra hole, Oosthuizen sent his ball into the water, while Casey needed four strokes to reach the green. Kozuma couldn’t convert his birdie attempt from 25 feet, leaving the way clear for Reed.

“It means a lot to me to get my first victory here, being part of LIV. I tried to mess it up. After making birdie on the first, I seemed to leave all the putts short,” Reed stated.

Bryson DeChambeau birdied the last hole, a relevant fact that knocked Jon Rahm out of the top 10 for the first time in LIV Golf. Sergio García, although he was not a determining factor in the tournament, finishes the week in fifth position in the ranking, ensuring a place in the British Open for LIV Golf players who are in the top five and who are not yet qualified for Royal Portrush.
