Morikawa Closes the Masters with a Notable Performance Despite Injuries
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Collin Morikawa concluded his participation in the Masters with an outstanding performance, achieving a tie for seventh place with a cumulative score of 9 under par, totaling 279 strokes. This achievement is even more significant considering the physical problems he faced during the tournament. Morikawa, who was forced to withdraw from the Players Championship last month due to back pain, arrived at the Masters not in full form. He started the tournament with a round of 74 strokes, but then showed his resilience by recording three consecutive rounds in the 60s.In the final round, Morikawa showcased his recovery ability with an impressive series of five consecutive birdies in the second half of the course, which allowed him to sign a card of 68 strokes, repeating the score of the previous day.“Believe me, this will be one of the best tournaments ever,” Morikawa said. “I will remember it for many reasons, but above all for the mental strength it took to go out and convince myself that everything would be fine.”
