LIV Golf Increases Prize Pools to $30 Million in 2026
The weekly prize pools for LIV Golf competitions will experience a significant increase, reaching $30 million by the year 2026, according to a recent report.
This $5 million increase will be specifically allocated to the team competition, underscoring the league’s commitment to this format.
Starting next season, the prize distribution will remain focused on individual stroke play, with $20 million allocated to this modality. The remaining $10 million will be reserved for the team competition, thus fostering competitiveness in both categories.
In comparison, the eight elevated events on the PGA Tour offer prize purses of $20 million. The tournament with the largest prize purse on the PGA Tour, even surpassing the majors, is The Players Championship, with a prize of $25 million.
The 13 LIV Golf teams operate independently, allowing each captain to manage their own commercial agreements and those of their players.
The focus on incorporating new players during the off-season has shifted, now falling on the teams and their captains. This marks a change from the generous signing bonuses that characterized the initial stages of the league.
