Max Verstappen’s future in Formula 1 could depend on the excitement generated by the new cars. The Dutch driver, with four consecutive titles and a debut in 2015, has made it clear that his continuity in the competition will largely depend on the driving experience offered by the new technical regulations of 2026.

Formula 1 will implement new regulations next year, seeking for the cars to be 50% electric and 50% powered by sustainable fuels. These modifications could change the competitive landscape, with Red Bull switching from Honda to its own engine, in collaboration with Ford. Verstappen, who has also expressed interest in other motorsport disciplines, such as his victory in a sports car race at the Nürburgring circuit, has indicated that he would have various options if he decided to retire.
