Verstappen Secures His Future with Red Bull Racing Until 2026

The Formula 1 star, Max Verstappen, will continue his career with Red Bull Racing for at least one more season. This was confirmed by Helmut Marko, the team’s advisor, this Monday, dispelling any speculation about a possible move to Mercedes. According to reports, a clause in Verstappen’s contract allowed him to leave Red Bull at the end of the year if he was in fourth position or lower in the championship standings after the Hungarian Grand Prix, which takes place this Sunday. After the Belgian Grand Prix, Verstappen is in third position in the F1 standings, with a considerable advantage over George Russell, who is in fourth place. This ensures his permanence in the team.
Max Verstappen's future at Red Bull has been the subject of speculation.
Verstappen’s situation was confirmed by Marko in an interview with the German media outlet Sport.De.

“Yes, I can confirm that Max Verstappen will race for Red Bull in 2026,” Marko affirmed.

Mercedes’ cars are currently occupied by Russell and the promising Kimi Antonelli. However, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has not denied his interest in Verstappen, the driver with the most victories in F1 since his first championship in 2021. Earlier this month, Red Bull abruptly fired team principal Christian Horner and replaced him with Laurent Mekies. At the time, Verstappen’s agent stated to a Dutch media outlet that Verstappen remained committed to the team despite the change.
