The British driver, trained in Mercedes’ junior program, whose current contract expires at the end of this season, has made it clear that his priority is to continue competing for the German team. During a press conference at the British Grand Prix, Russell stated that the chances of not being at Mercedes next year are “exceptionally low.” The driver has been focused on his work and his loyalty to Mercedes, showing a positive attitude towards the rumors.Russell mentioned that there is no deadline for contract negotiations, but he expects a resolution in the coming weeks, before the Formula 1 summer break in August. Amidst speculation about Verstappen’s possible arrival at Mercedes, it has been assumed that Russell could be the one to leave his place.
