Hamilton calls speculation about Horner and Ferrari “distracting”

British driver Lewis Hamilton has expressed his opinion on the rumors linking Christian Horner to a possible position at Ferrari, calling them “distractions”. Rumors suggest that former Red Bull boss Christian Horner could be in talks with Ferrari to join the team in a management role. Hamilton, who is preparing for the United States Grand Prix, commented on the situation. “I don’t know where the rumors are coming from, so I can’t shed much light on that.”

These things, of course, are not useful. I know everyone in the factory is working incredibly hard, focused, and these kinds of rumors can sometimes be distracting.

When asked if there was any truth to the reports and if it would be a good idea for Horner to become team principal, Hamilton responded firmly: “No, and I’m not going to feed those [rumors].”
In the Singapore Grand Prix, Aston Martin team boss Andy Cowell mentioned that “it seems that Christian is calling almost all team owners at the moment.” However, he dismissed any suggestion of a possible connection between Horner and Aston Martin. Similarly, Haas F1 team director Ayao Komatsu rejected any indication of joining the team. In July, Ferrari signed a new multi-year contract with current team principal Fred Vasseur, ending speculation about his future, despite the team’s less-than-stellar results. Since then, both Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have publicly backed Vasseur. Hamilton added that the focus for the last six races of the season will be to squeeze out points and improve the team’s processes for next year.
