Daniel Ricciardo has confirmed his definitive retirement from motorsport, taking on a new role as an ambassador for Ford’s racing division. The renowned driver, winner of eight Formula 1 races, has been named Global Ambassador of Ford Racing, formerly known as Ford Performance, becoming the visible face of its activities in the automotive world. Ricciardo, a beloved figure in the Formula 1 world, was one of the stars of the successful Netflix series “Drive to Survive”. Although it was already an open secret, Ricciardo has made official his decision not to compete again.

“Although my racing days are behind me, my love for anything with wheels will always remain high and that’s why I’m proud to partner with Ford to become a Global Ambassador for Ford Racing,” Ricciardo wrote.

Ricciardo’s new role with Ford Racing will not interfere with the company’s commitments in Formula 1. Ford announced that the rebranding aims to unify on-road and racing vehicle operations. Ricciardo is expected to participate in the Ford Raptor Rally in October and similar events during his collaboration with the company. Ricciardo revealed that he bought a Raptor in 2017, even before having a house in the United States, demonstrating his priorities.
