SILVERSTONE, England – Lando Norris achieved a memorable victory at the British Grand Prix, marking a significant milestone in his career. With a dominant performance, Norris prevailed over his McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri, securing his first win in this prestigious race.
Norris’s triumph at Silverstone makes him the thirteenth British driver to win this iconic race.
“Everything I’ve ever wanted to achieve. Aside from a championship, I think this is the best you can feel, in terms of achievement, pride, everything. This is where it all started for me, watching the race on television many years ago. And now, fortunately, I’ve been able to have my opportunity,” Norris declared after getting out of the car.

When asked if he shed tears after the victory, Norris replied:
“No tears! I tried, but no. I don’t know. When I get emotional, I don’t cry, I just smile. It’s pure happiness. It’s pure enjoyment of the moment you’re in. I wish I could cry because I think it looks better for the photos sometimes. But no, instead, I just smile.”

When asked about what he was thinking on the last laps, Norris said:
“Your mind just goes blank. You forget everything you might think before the race. The main thing is always not to screw it up. That’s rule number one. But in the last laps, I was just looking at the crowd. I was just trying to take it all in, enjoy the moment because it might not happen again. I hope it does, but these are memories I’ll take with me forever. An incredible achievement.”

This is something that I and very few others, especially the British, get to witness. It’s a very selfish moment, but it’s one of the most special, the most incredible, because it’s something so rare that someone feels and sees and witnesses. For me, the best victory.”
The victory brings Norris to within eight points of Piastri in the championship at the mid-season point, with 12 races remaining.
