Lando Norris Suffers Damage After Collision at the Singapore Grand Prix

British driver Lando Norris experienced an incident in the pitlane during the second practice for the Singapore Grand Prix, resulting in damage to his front wing. The crash occurred after a collision with Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari. Norris, who had just exited his garage after a second red flag interruption, encountered Leclerc, who was released directly into his path. In an attempt to avoid the collision, Norris hit the concrete wall, suffering damage to the front of his McLaren.

I just crashed. He just hit me straight away.

Norris was able to return to the track in the last 10 minutes of the session, finishing in fifth position, 0.483 seconds behind his McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri. With seven races remaining and a 25-point difference with Piastri, Norris expressed his self-criticism, indicating that his performance was not adequate. Isack Hadjar from Racing Bulls achieved an impressive second place, followed by Max Verstappen, who remains in the fight for the title, with a 69-point deficit. Fernando Alonso, who was the fastest in the first session, finished the day in fourth place. Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, for their part, were in ninth and tenth place respectively for Ferrari. George Russell, still recovering from a virus, admitted to not being at 100% of his capacity. Russell, who finished tenth in the first session, suffered an accident in the second practice after losing control of his car at turn 16.

It was a bit strange, and I’m not sure what happened. I braked a little earlier, entered a little slower, but I lost the rear. Fortunately, I went in head-on and didn’t do too much damage, but the game was over. A bit annoying, so sorry for the team, but it’s better that it happened today than tomorrow.
