In an exciting initiative that combines the speed of Formula 1 with the creativity of Lego, the top three drivers of the British Grand Prix will be awarded unique trophies made of Lego.
As part of the collaboration between the Danish company and F1, Lego has designed these trophies inspired by the traditional gold RAC trophy, which has been awarded to the winner of the British Grand Prix since 1973.
Although the original trophy will continue to be awarded to the winner, and returns to the RAC after the ceremony, the drivers will be able to keep the Lego models.
The designer, Samuel Liltorp Johnson, explained that the design was inspired by the original RAC trophy, but with a creative Lego touch. We didn’t want to present a bright yellow trophy, as we wanted to respect the legacy of this race and this sport.

The individual bricks have been glued together to strengthen the structure, considering the possible handling during the celebrations on the podium. Regarding an incident at the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix, where Lando Norris’s champagne broke a porcelain trophy, Liltorp Johnson explained that the Lego models were created to withstand podium handling.Everything you see here can be recreated with the right bricks.

The trophies are the latest initiative in Lego’s collaboration with F1, following the use of life-size Lego cars in the drivers’ parade at the Miami Grand Prix in May.The team has built and glued them, so that we don’t have a disaster with champagne and the trophy breaks.
