Lewis Hamilton Withdraws from Pirelli Test Due to His Dog Roscoe’s Health

Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton was forced to cancel his participation in Friday’s Pirelli tire test due to his dog Roscoe’s illness. The seven-time world champion was scheduled to participate in the race at Mugello, but withdrew to be with his pet. Hamilton shared an update on the 12-year-old bulldog’s health status on his Instagram account, where images from a veterinary clinic were shown.

“Please keep Roscoe in your thoughts. I want to keep you updated,” Hamilton expressed.

“Roscoe contracted pneumonia again and was struggling to breathe. He was admitted to the hospital and sedated to calm him while they ran tests, and during the process, his heart stopped.” The pilot added: “They managed to get his heartbeat back and now he’s in a coma. We don’t know if he will wake up from this. Tomorrow we will try to wake him up. I am by his side and I want to thank you all for your prayers and support.” Lewis Hamilton’s Instagram post about Roscoe’s health. Reserve driver Zhou Guanyu took on Hamilton’s responsibilities at the Mugello test, along with Ferrari’s regular, Charles Leclerc. The test, which is being carried out on a modified version of this year’s Ferrari, was scheduled to help Pirelli finalize decisions on the hardest compounds in its tire range for next year.
