Formula 1 Teams Extend Their Support for F1 Academy
The ten Formula 1 teams have formalized their commitment to the F1 Academy, the all-female series. They have signed a new multi-year agreement that ensures their support for the drivers and the presence of team designs on the cars beyond this season. This agreement is based on the model implemented in 2024, where each F1 team began to support a driver from the Academy and adopt their colors on the car. The new agreement guarantees the continuity of this partnership for several more years. In addition, it will expand with the arrival of Cadillac, which will join the Formula 1 grid in 2026 and the F1 Academy program from 2027. The F1 Academy also announced an update to its participation rules. Starting in 2027, drivers who have competed in two seasons will be able to obtain an exemption to compete a third year, as part of what the organizers call a “personalized approach to nurturing talent.” This provision will only apply to drivers who demonstrate clear potential for continued growth. The long-term commitment of support from the current ten Formula 1 teams, and the incorporation of Cadillac from 2027, sends a powerful message about the future of the F1 Academy.
