Cadillac Gears Up for Formula 1: Keanu Reeves Fronts an Exclusive Documentary
While Cadillac prepares for its entry into Formula 1 in 2026, a new documentary starring actor and filmmaker Keanu Reeves will reveal the American team’s path to the grid. The documentary series, announced this Wednesday, will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the birth of the competition’s eleventh team, following its approval in March. It will show the process of assembling the cars, the selection of staff and drivers, preparing for their debut in Melbourne in March 2026. The General Motors, Cadillac team is facing a race against time, with less than 250 days to design and manufacture their single-seaters from their bases in Silverstone and the United States. They already have 400 of the 600 employees needed. This new documentary series follows the success of Reeves’ “Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story”, winner of an Emmy Award in 2023, which narrated the incredible story of Brawn GP, a team on the verge of bankruptcy that managed to win the 2009 Formula 1 world championship. Reeves, a passionate motorsport enthusiast, will be the presenter and executive producer, along with Brawn’s director and executive producer, Simon Hammerson, and executive producer Neil Duncanson, winner of three BAFTA awards.The series seeks to show the unique challenges faced by General Motors and TWG Motorsports in building a competitive team within a tight timeframe, offering a first-hand look at the ambition to establish an American presence in a sport dominated by European powers. The documentary is also expected to chronicle the progress of the American team within the context of the growing popularity of F1 in the United States and worldwide.
