Bearman Criticizes Tsunoda’s Driving Style at the United States Grand Prix

Formula 1 rookie Oliver Bearman expressed his dissatisfaction with the way Yuki Tsunoda drove during the United States Grand Prix. Bearman described Tsunoda’s driving as dangerous and a bad example for young aspiring drivers. Bearman’s criticism arose after he was forced to make an evasive maneuver to avoid the Red Bull while defending his position mid-race. Tsunoda locked the apex at Turn 15, forcing Bearman off the track and to spin.

I felt that what he did was quite dangerous, contrary to the spirit of how we should race and the image we should project to the children growing up in karting and those things. This is not how we race. He was moving all over the place for a few laps. And when I finally tried to overtake, he reacted and didn’t leave the width of a car on the track, and that’s unfair, it’s not allowed, and that made me avoid.

Bearman, who finished in ninth place, regretted that the incident prevented him from obtaining a better position. Tsunoda, for his part, finished in seventh place.
Bearman also mentioned other incidents in which Tsunoda was involved during the weekend, including the sprint race, suggesting that his driving style might be a bit desperate. In response to Bearman’s comments, Tsunoda downplayed the incidents, stating that “that’s racing” and that he felt in control of his vehicle.
