Audi Reveals its Design and Colors for Formula 1 in 2026

Just 115 days before its official entry into Formula 1, Audi has presented the design concept and the colors it will wear in the 2026 season. The announcement was made during an event in Munich, Germany, marking the rebranding of the Sauber team, now under the Audi brand. The complete unveiling of the livery and branding is scheduled for January, before the official presentation of the car and the F1 winter tests in Barcelona in February. The R26 concept presents the company’s classic racing colors: titanium, Audi red, and carbon black. This geometric design pays homage to Audi’s motorsport heritage, including rally, Le Mans, and Formula E. The livery also incorporates the iconic Audi rings in red.

The Audi R26 concept is a clear statement and offers a preview of the color combination and design of the brand’s first Formula 1 racing car, which will be unveiled in January.

Massimo Frascella, Audi Creative Director
Frascella added that this visual identity is based on the recently introduced design philosophy and its four principles: clear, technical, intelligent, and emotional. In addition, he highlighted that the Formula 1 project is a pioneer in the new brand identity, which will be implemented for both the F1 team and Audi in general.
The current drivers of the team, Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto, will remain in their positions next year, along with team director Jonathan Wheatley, and Mattia Binotto, who manages the F1 project. Audi has announced partnerships with BP, including sustainable fuels, Adidas and Revolut, as well as investment from Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund.

By entering the pinnacle of motorsport, Audi makes a clear and ambitious statement. It is the next chapter in the company’s renewal. Formula 1 will be a catalyst for change towards a more agile, faster, and innovative Audi.

Gernot Döllner, CEO of Audi
Döllner emphasized that Audi is not entering Formula 1 just to participate, but to win. He acknowledged that reaching the top requires time, perseverance, and constant questioning. The goal is to fight for the World Championship title by 2030.
