Fernando Alonso Praises Gabriel Bortoleto’s Performance
The renowned driver Fernando Alonso has expressed his admiration for the young Gabriel Bortoleto, calling him the “best rookie of his generation” after his outstanding performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Bortoleto, 20 years old, achieved an impressive sixth place in Budapest, just behind Alonso, who finished in fifth place. This result marked the third time in the last four races that Bortoleto has scored points.
He makes few mistakes, always pushing. He is the best rookie of this generation.

After a complicated start to his Formula One season, Bortoleto has shown a notable improvement, contributing to Sauber’s rise to eighth place in the constructors’ championship, just one point behind Aston Martin.
Bortoleto, referring to his performance, commented: “I did an incredible job [in Hungary], the team gave me an incredible car for today’s race. We managed to put everything in place. The strategy was great. I don’t see how we could have finished this half of the season better.”
Formula One now enters its summer break, with the Dutch Grand Prix scheduled for August 31st.
