Shakur Stevenson Climbs in P4P Rankings After Dominating Teofimo López Jr.
Shakur Stevenson demonstrated his supremacy in the ring by defeating Teofimo López Jr. by unanimous decision on January 31, solidifying himself as a world champion in four different divisions. Stevenson, current holder of the WBO super lightweight title, at 28 years old, has competed for a world title in nine of his last ten fights.
Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) displayed his characteristic defensive prowess, controlling the offense. He outperformed Lopez in total punches (165 to 72), jabs landed (320 to 105), and power punches (60 to 40), securing scorecards of 119-109 across all rounds.
“I told everyone before the fight that they would say I have the best jab in boxing after this,” Stevenson stated after the fight. “I saw his weaknesses and took advantage of them. I felt stronger, faster, smarter, and more accurate.”

Ranking of the Best Boxers in the World
Terence Crawford’s retirement propels Usyk to the top spot. Despite being almost 39 years old, he remains at the summit, as demonstrated by his knockout victory over Dubois last July. He has defeated Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, and Daniel Dubois twice each, and is looking for a new opponent. Deontay Wilder could be his next rival.
Inoue closed out a four-fight 2025 with a wide unanimous decision against Picasso. His pace is impressive and set the stage for a showdown with Junto Nakatani in early 2026. A victory over Nakatani would catapult him to the top spot.
“Bam” Rodriguez dominated Martinez to add the WBA title to his collection at super flyweight. At 25 years old, he is the youngest boxer in the rankings and has plenty of time to reach the top. He is one of the most exciting boxers to watch.
Bivol has been inactive since his rematch with Beterbiev due to surgery for a herniated disc. He is expected to return in early 2026, possibly against Michael Eifert, before the rematch with Beterbiev.
Stevenson rises in the rankings after his victory over Teofimo López Jr. Despite his youth, Stevenson is dominating his opponents. He has several options, such as unifying at 140 or 135 pounds, or moving up to 147 pounds.
Beterbiev, after his defeat against Bivol, has no clear opponent. At 41 years old, he is near the end of his career, but still has big possible fights, such as a rematch with Bivol or a fight with David Benavidez.
After defeating Yarde in November, Benavidez announced that he would move up to cruiserweight to challenge “Zurdo” Ramirez. The fight will take place during the Cinco de Mayo weekend in Las Vegas. If he wins, he could return to light heavyweight for important fights.
Despite a controversial victory over Hernandez, Nakatani secured a possible showdown with Naoya Inoue this year. He will have the opportunity to prove his worth by facing Inoue.
Haney defeated Norman to become the WBO champion. He silenced the critics with his skill and experience. Haney, 27 years old, enters the list for his impressive skill set.
Canelo returns to the P4P ranking. After his defeat against Terence Crawford, expectations are set on his return after an elbow surgery in September. The super middleweight division is open, and Canelo could try to regain the titles he lost.
