Boxing promoter Bob Arum has expressed his conviction that Tyson Fury will not fight again, following the announcement of his retirement from the sport in January.
The former heavyweight champion announced his most recent retirement a month after losing the rematch against the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
Arum, who collaborated with Fury in the past, has stated that he considers this retirement definitive.

If I were a gambler, I’d say he’ll never fight again.

Arum, in statements to the BBC Boxing podcast, quoted a phrase from Marvin Hagler: “A rich guy who goes to bed in silk pajamas doesn’t get up in the morning to do roadwork.”
According to Arum, Fury “really, I don’t think he wants to get up in the morning and do road work and go through the experience of having to train when economically he doesn’t have to.”
Fury retired in 2013 and 2017, both announcements made via social media, which turned out to be short-lived.
The 36-year-old boxer’s last fight in the United Kingdom was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2022, where he defeated Derek Chisora. His last three fights took place in Saudi Arabia.
The Briton, whose career began in 2008, holds a record of 34 wins, one draw, and two losses, both to Usyk.
