Campbell Hatton, son of the late boxing world champion Ricky Hatton, has shared a moving tribute following his father’s passing. The news of Hatton’s death, found at his home on Sunday morning at the age of 46, has caused shock in the sports world.

In a series of family photos, Campbell expressed her pain.

“Devastated is not the word,” Campbell wrote. He continued saying: “I have always been told that I am your double, and there are no truer words. I admired you in all aspects of life.” The boxer’s son added: “I can’t explain how much I’m going to miss the laughs we shared and all the good times, which I will remember forever. I simply can’t believe we won’t have any more. I love you, Dad.” Greater Manchester Police reported that Hatton was found dead at his residence in Hyde, Greater Manchester. Authorities confirmed that no suspicious circumstances were suspected. Campbell, like his father, entered professional boxing, debuting in 2021, although he retired at the beginning of this year. On Monday, the Hatton family issued a statement through the police, expressing their deep emotion for the expressions of affection and support received. The statement highlighted that “Richard was much more than a world champion. For us, he was simply ‘Richard’, our son. A loving father, grandfather, and brother, and a true friend to many.” Additionally, the family highlighted: “He had a heart as big as his smile, and his kindness, humor, and loyalty touched everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.”

The family added: “For the world in general, Richard will always be remembered as one of the greatest boxing champions, a man who gave it his all inside the ring and showed his heart outside of it.” The family also requested privacy and went on to say: “As a family, our loss is immeasurable, and words cannot capture the pain we feel. However, in the midst of our grief, we have been deeply moved by the overwhelming outpouring of love and support.” Finally, they expressed: “It has been a great source of comfort to see how many lives Richard touched, and how widely he was admired and respected.” The Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, announced that the city will consider the best way to honor Hatton’s memory in the coming weeks and months.
