Serhii Bohachuk Seeks Revenge Against Brandon Adams on the Canelo vs. Crawford Card

Serhii Bohachuk will have the opportunity to avenge his knockout defeat in 2021 against Brandon Adams. Both boxers will face each other again as part of the preliminary card of the Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford event, on September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Dana White, CEO of UFC and Zuffa Boxing, revealed that the Bohachuk-Adams 2 fight will be 10 rounds and will be contested at an agreed weight of 156 pounds. This matchup will join five other preliminary fights that will be broadcast on YouTube.

“This is a rematch of a brutal fight between these two”, White said on Instagram Live. “Literally, Adams had to win the fight by knockout, and he did”.

The first encounter between Bohachuk (25-2, 24 KOs) and Adams (25-4, 16 KOs) took place in a more modest setting under COVID-19 restrictions at the Municipal Boxing Gym Félix Pagán Pintor in Puerto Rico. Adams, who was losing on the scorecards, managed a comeback to knock out Bohachuk in the eighth round. Since his defeat to Adams, Bohachuk has a record of 7-1, with his only other loss by majority decision against Vergil Ortiz Jr. last August. Adams did not fight for three years after defeating Bohachuk, and in 2024 he has a record of 2-1. He is coming off a split decision loss to Andreas Katzourakis last November.

The preliminaries on YouTube will also feature the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, Ivan Dychko (15-0, 14 KOs), who will face Jermaine Franklin in a 10-round heavyweight bout. Franklin (23-2, 15 KOs) is known for his resilience and has gone the distance in his defeats against Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.

The other fights on the preliminary card that will begin to air at 5:30 p.m. ET on Netflix’s YouTube channel are:
  • Junior Lightweight: Reito Tsutsumi (2-0, 1 KO) vs. Javier Martínez (7-2, 4 KOs), six rounds
  • Super Middleweight: Steven Nelson (20-1, 16 KOs) vs. Raiko Santana (12-4, 6 KOs), 10 rounds
  • Super Middleweight: Marcos Verde (2-0, 1 KO) vs. TBD, six rounds
  • Junior Welterweight: Sultan Almohamed (professional debut) vs. Martin Caraballo (0-0-1), four rounds
