The Chicago White Sox have called up catcher Kyle Teel from their Triple-A affiliate, Charlotte, ahead of the start of Friday’s series against the Kansas City Royals.

Teel, 23, is ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the White Sox system and No. 26 overall in baseball, according to MLB.com. He has yet to debut in the Major Leagues.

In his performance with Charlotte, Teel presents a batting average of .295/.394/.492, with eight home runs, 30 RBIs, 34 runs scored, and 30 walks in 50 games. In addition, he has safely reached base in 38 of his last 39 games, since April 10th.

The Boston Red Sox selected Teel in the first round (14th overall) in 2023, coming from Virginia. He was traded to Chicago in December 2024, along with three other prospects, in exchange for All-Star left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet.

In corresponding moves, the White Sox sent catcher Korey Lee to Charlotte and designated right-handed pitcher Ryan Cusick for assignment.
