San José and San Francisco Shine in the Superior Altagraciano Basketball Tournament

HIGÜEY, LA ALTAGRACIA – The San José and San Francisco teams won on the second day of the 50th Torneo de Baloncesto Superior Altagraciano (TBS Higüey 2025), held at the Leo Tavárez sports complex in this city. The tournament, which is the Punta Cana Cup, sponsored by the Puntacana Group, is organized by the Basketball Association of La Altagracia Province (ABAPA), chaired by Jorge Tavárez, and is dedicated to Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, Bishop of the Diocese of Our Lady of La Altagracia.

San José Maintains its Winning Streak

The San José team (2-0) achieved its second consecutive victory by defeating the Antonio Guzmán club (0-2) with a score of 94-85. Antonio Gordon, imported player, led San José’s offense with 32 points, followed by Luis Peña, who contributed 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Joan Paniagua added 13 points. By the Antonio Guzmán team, Bryan De la Cruz stood out with 41 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists, while Jeremy Sarmiento scored 9 points.

San Francisco Gets Its First Win

The San Francisco team (1-0) achieved its first victory of the tournament by defeating Cambelén (0-1) with a score of 84-75. Jeff Allen, team reinforcement, was key in the victory with 24 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Yorky Mota contributed 23 points and 6 rebounds, Roel López 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists, and Leoanny Reynoso 10 points and 10 rebounds. In the Cambelén team, José Luis De la Cruz scored 18 points, the imported Dazon Ingram 16 points and 14 rebounds, Francisco Campusano 12 points and 15 rebounds, and Nathanael Bonet 16. The games are broadcast through TV Higüey and the official YouTube channel of ABAPA. Businessman Ernesto Veloz presides over the Organizing Committee of the TBS Higüey.

Upcoming Meetings

The Sunday games at the TBS Higüey 2025 will pit the San José and Centro clubs against each other at 5:30 in the afternoon, and at 7:30 at night, Savica and Antonio Guzmán, at the Leo Tavárez.
