Ben Whittaker Shows Power with Brutal First-Round KO

BIRMINGHAM, England – Ben Whittaker, in his debut under Eddie Hearn’s promotion with Matchroom Boxing, achieved an impressive first-round knockout against Benjamin Gavazi on Saturday. Whittaker (10-0-1, 7 KOs) wasted no time in demonstrating his superiority. He used his left jab to control the distance and punish both the head and body of Gavazi (19-2, 13 KOs), whose speed proved to be a key factor in the fight.

Midway through the first round, a powerful right hand from Whittaker knocked down the German boxer, marking the beginning of the end. Whittaker continued his offensive, connecting a left hook followed by another right that hit squarely, ending the fight quickly at the NEC in Birmingham.

Although visibly affected, Gavazi recovered and got up, apparently in good condition. Whittaker’s ring entrance, accompanied by British artist Dizzee Rascal, had already ignited the audience. The 28-year-old boxer lived up to expectations, backing up his flashy presentation with a resounding knockout.
