Whittaker (10-0-1, 7 KOs) wasted no time in demonstrating his superiority. He used his left jab to control the distance and punish both the head and body of Gavazi (19-2, 13 KOs), whose speed proved to be a key factor in the fight.Midway through the first round, a powerful right hand from Whittaker knocked down the German boxer, marking the beginning of the end.
