Revealed Fight Card for Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua
Most Valuable Promotions has announced the preliminary fights for the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua event, scheduled for December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, which will be broadcast live on Netflix. The fight card, which was originally planned for the Paul vs. Gervonta Davis fight, largely remains the same. The co-main event will be Alycia Baumgardner’s unified super featherweight title defense against Leila Beaudoin. However, Anderson Silva will not face Chris Weidman in the initial fight of the main card. Instead, former UFC champion Tyron Woodley will step into the ring to face Silva in a six-round cruiserweight bout. Both Silva and Woodley have lost to Paul in the past. Silva lost by unanimous decision to Paul in 2022, while Woodley lost both fights against “The Problem Child”, one by split decision in August 2021 and the other by knockout in the rematch in December of that same year.Weidman was forced to withdraw from the fight against Silva due to an injury. Woodley, who held the UFC welterweight title from 2016 to 2019, hopes to get his first boxing win against one of the best MMA champions of all time.“I believe changes always happen for a reason,” Silva said in a statement. “I am focused on doing a good job. Always respecting my opponent and showing total respect for the world of boxing.”
