Celtics Halt Pistons’ Winning Streak in an Epic Duel

The Boston Celtics, led by Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, ended the winning streak of the Detroit Pistons, which equaled a franchise record with 13 consecutive victories. The match, played on Wednesday night, culminated with a score of 117-114 in favor of the Celtics, despite the outstanding performance of Cade Cunningham, a Pistons player.

The Pistons, leaders of the Eastern Conference, missed the opportunity to set a new record for their team, which they share with the champion teams of 1989-90 and 2003-04. After a season of ups and downs, the team presented itself with a record of 15 wins and 3 losses.

Jaylen Brown was the key figure for the Celtics, scoring 33 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Derrick White, for his part, contributed 27 points, 11 of them crucial in the final minutes of the game, to secure Boston’s victory against Cunningham’s 42 points.

In the final moments, with Detroit down by three points, Cunningham was fouled near the middle of the court, just before attempting a three-point shot. After a review, the referees determined that the foul occurred during the shooting act. Cunningham made the first two free throws, but missed the third.

Payton Pritchard of Boston grabbed the rebound, was fouled, and made two free throws with 2.4 seconds left on the clock.

Boston managed to steal a crucial pass, preventing Detroit from the possibility of a three-pointer that would tie the game.

Pritchard added 16 additional points, contributing to the Celtics’ fifth victory in their last six games.

The previous Monday, Detroit had won in Indiana, tying the team’s record for consecutive wins.
