Connor Brown Ready for the Stanley Cup Final

The Edmonton forward, Connor Brown, has been cleared to play and will be available for the first game of the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers on Wednesday. Brown, who was absent due to an undisclosed injury, participated in Sunday’s training. The 31-year-old player missed the last two games of the five-game series against the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals, which concluded last Thursday. Brown left Game 3 in the second period on May 25 after a hard hit from Stars defenseman Alexander Petrovic.

I feel good. It’s good to practice with the team. Obviously, I haven’t been practicing much. It’s good to get back in action. I’m excited.

Brown has eight points (five goals, three assists) in 14 playoff games. In the regular season, he accumulated 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) and a +9 differential, playing all 82 games.

His spot on the third line has been taken by Viktor Arvidsson on the right wing, alongside center Adam Henrique and left wing Evander Kane. The Oilers will be without forward Zach Hyman, who underwent surgery after suffering an upper-body injury in Game 4 against the Stars.

I have no idea what the line combinations are. Obviously, I’m not trying to put on my coach’s hat or anything like that. My job is to be ready to play.

I think he’ll be fine. Obviously, they saw him on the ice and playing double shifts, and I’m pretty sure and confident that he’ll be fine for Game 1.
