Jean Segura, MLB Star, Announces Retirement

The renowned infielder Jean Segura, a two-time All-Star with a distinguished 12-year career in Major League Baseball, has announced his retirement from professional baseball.

The news was communicated through social media by his agent, CAA Sports, and the Philadelphia Phillies, the team with which Segura played between 2019 and 2022.

Segura, 35, played her last game in the majors in 2023, defending the colors of the Miami Marlins.

His career was marked by his participation in the All-Star Game in 2013, representing the Milwaukee Brewers, and in 2018, as a player for the Seattle Mariners. In 2016, he led the National League with 203 hits, while playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

In addition, Segura was also part of the Los Angeles Angels. His only postseason appearance was in 2022 with the Phillies.

In his career, Segura accumulated 1,545 hits, 513 RBIs, 110 home runs, and 211 stolen bases in 1,413 games.
