Cam Ward Signs Contract with the Titans
Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward has made official his contract with the team.
Ward, who represented himself in the negotiations, has secured a four-year contract worth $48.7 million, fully guaranteed. This agreement, as is customary for top draft picks, includes an option for a fifth year.
The Titans selected Ward as the first overall pick in last month’s draft. Despite not having a contract at that time, Ward already participated in the rookie minicamp and OTAs, demonstrating his commitment to the team.
It’s his leadership ability and the way he can improve those around him. Players who transcend have a unique ability to connect with their teammates and raise the level of everyone around them.
Brian Callahan, Titans coach, on Cam Ward
Titans coach Brian Callahan, who arrives after a season with a 3-14 record, is confident that his previous experience working with quarterbacks will contribute to Ward’s development. Callahan has coached figures like Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford, Derek Carr, and Joe Burrow.
In March, Tennessee added veterans Kyle Allen and Tim Boyle as backups. The Titans’ quarterback room consists of Ward, Allen, Boyle, and Will Levis, who has two years remaining on his rookie contract after being selected in the 33rd position in 2023.
Ward, who began his college career at Incarnate Word, is the first overall pick who played FCS football since 1979. His five-year college career included stints at Incarnate Word, Washington State, and Miami, setting a combined record of 158 touchdown passes between FCS and FBS.
