Maresca Criticizes Chelsea’s Schedule Before Conference League Final
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has expressed his discontent with his team’s match schedule ahead of the UEFA Conference League final.
Chelsea will face Nottingham Forest on Sunday in a crucial Premier League encounter, which could determine their qualification for next season’s Champions League.
However, their rival in next week’s final, Real Betis, will have two extra days to prepare, as their LaLiga match against Valencia is scheduled for Friday.
I am not happy, 100%.

Maresca, when asked about the difference in preparation time, stated in a press conference: “I am not happy, 100%.”

The coach added: “It cannot be allowed that a team has 48 hours more time when playing a European final.”
“I don’t know if it’s the responsibility of the Premier League, La Liga or UEFA, but it’s not normal to play against a team that has had 48 hours more time than you.”
“That’s not right. I don’t know whose fault it is, but there should be rules, absolutely yes.”
Maresca suggested that Chelsea’s last league game should have been moved to coincide with Betis’s, or that the Spanish team’s match should have been scheduled for Sunday.
