Wyndham Clark Apologizes After Incidents at the PGA Championship
Golfer Wyndham Clark issued a public apology on Monday after an incident during the final round of the PGA Championship, where he lost control of his emotions.
Clark, visibly frustrated after a poor tee shot on the 16th hole, threw his driver dangerously, hitting a sign behind the teeing area. The impact caused a hole in the sign and broke the club head.
I would like to sincerely apologize for my behavior yesterday on the 16th hole. As professionals, we are expected to maintain professionalism even when we are frustrated, and unfortunately, I let my emotions get the better of me. My actions were completely unnecessary and inappropriate, which makes it clear that I have things I need to work on.

The golfer, who finished the tournament with a result of +4, acknowledged that his actions did not meet the standards he demands of himself.
Clark, winner of the 2023 US Open, had a series of four consecutive bogeys in the first nine holes on Sunday, leading to a 74 (+3) and a tie for 50th place.
