Following his unexpected departure from the Denver Nuggets, Michael Malone joins the broadcast team for the coverage of the Western Conference Finals.

The series, which begins Tuesday night, pits the Minnesota Timberwolves against the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team that eliminated the Nuggets in seven games during the second round.

Malone, who led the Nuggets to their first NBA championship in 2023 and is the coach with the most wins in franchise history, was surprisingly fired along with general manager Calvin Booth in the last week of the regular season.

Malone will participate in the “NBA Countdown” study program before the game and during halftime, which will be broadcast from the location of each game in the series. He will work alongside Malika Andrews, Stephen A. Smith, Bob Myers, Kendrick Perkins, and Shams Charania.
