Real Madrid, in Trouble Due to Injuries: Only 10 Players Available

Real Madrid faces a critical situation due to injuries to several of its key players. For the crucial LaLiga match against Real Mallorca, the white team only has 10 available players from the first team.

This match, although of lesser relevance for Madrid, could be decisive for their rivals. A defeat could allow Barcelona to secure the league title, while a victory for Mallorca would bring them closer to a place in the UEFA Conference League.

The situation worsened with injuries to Brahim Díaz and Andriy Lunin. Lunin suffered a right hand injury during training, and Díaz was diagnosed with a thigh problem.

The list of players available for the match at the Bernabéu includes: Thibaut Courtois, Fran García, Federico Valverde, Jesús Vallejo, Luka Modric, Dani Ceballos, Arda Güler, Jude Bellingham, Endrick, and Kylian Mbappé.

The rest of the squad will be made up of players from the reserve team, Castilla.

The rules of the Spanish football federation require that teams field at least seven players from the category in which the match is played (in this case, the first team) at all times. If the number of players is reduced to six or fewer, the referee would be obliged to suspend the match, and the offending team would lose the match.

To the already confirmed casualties are added Dani Carvajal, Éder Militão, David Alaba, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, Lucas Vázquez, Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo, all due to injury, in addition to Aurélien Tchouaméni, suspended for accumulation of cards.

The situation of Vinícius and Lucas Vázquez became evident on Monday, and the news arrived at the same time that Ancelotti confirmed his departure at the end of the season to manage Brazil. Vinícius suffers a sprain in his left ankle, while Vázquez has an injury in his left thigh.

Both Vinícius and Vázquez were substituted during Madrid’s 4-3 defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Rodrygo started Madrid’s training, but felt discomfort and had to leave the session after a few minutes.

“He had a fever last week, which prevented him from training well and returning to his best level. Today he felt some discomfort in his leg, which needs to be evaluated.”
