Yankees Lose Oswaldo Cabrera to Ankle Fracture

New York – The New York Yankees officially announced this Tuesday that versatile Venezuelan player Oswaldo Cabrera has been placed on the 10-day injured list. The unfortunate situation occurred after he suffered a fracture in his left ankle during Monday’s game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

The injury occurred in the ninth inning when Cabrera, in an attempt to avoid catcher Cal Raleigh’s tag, stepped on home plate forcefully, losing his balance and suffering a sprain that affected his ankle. Despite the impact, Cabrera managed to score before falling to the ground, visibly affected and requiring immediate medical assistance.

The player was taken off the field in an ambulance.

Definitely, it’s one of those situations that reminds you that, although we live this game intensely, there are more important things. Oswaldo is very loved by everyone here.

In response to this situation, the team activated infielder DJ LeMahieu, who successfully completed his rehabilitation assignment.

The Yankees assured that they will provide all the necessary medical support to Cabrera during his recovery, while they hope that LeMahieu strengthens the infield after his return.
