Novak Djokovic Withdraws from the Paris Masters Due to Injury
The Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has announced his withdrawal from next week’s Paris Masters, as he communicated on his social media this Tuesday. This decision comes a few days after he withdrew from an exhibition event due to a leg injury.
Djokovic, winner of 24 Grand Slam titles, has had a season with little activity, participating in only eight ATP Tour events outside of the four most important tournaments.
At 38 years old, Djokovic reached the semifinals at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open this season. Between the end of May and the end of September, his only participations were in these last three Grand Slams.
In his most recent official tournament, the Shanghai Masters, Djokovic was affected by a hip injury during his semi-final exit.
He was one of the six players invited to the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia last week. After a bye in the first round, Djokovic lost to Jannik Sinner, and then faced Taylor Fritz to determine third place, but interrupted the game after one set.
The ATP Finals, for which Djokovic qualified but skipped in 2024, will be held from November 9 to 16 in Turin, Italy.
