Titanes del Sur y Reales de La Vega Inauguran la Súper Liga de la LNB 2025
Santo Domingo – The excitement of Dominican professional basketball is about to ignite with the start of the LNB Super League 2025. The current national champions, the Titanes del Sur, will face the runners-up Reales de La Vega in the opening game. The match will take place this Tuesday at 8:00 PM at the Polideportivo de San Cristóbal.
The Southern Titans, seeking to defend their title, will have Richard Bautista as their starting point guard. Bautista was recognized as the “Most Valuable Player” in both the regular season and the grand final of last season, in addition to being awarded “Defensive Player of the Year” in 2024.
The team is awaiting the incorporation of Luis Montero and Jhonatan Araujo, and Jassel Pérez will join later.
For their part, the Reales de La Vega will have Lewis Duarte and Miguel Simón.
More exciting encounters on the first day
The opening day of the LNB Super League 2025 also features other outstanding matches.
At 8:30 PM, the Cañeros del Este will visit the Metros de Santiago at the Oscar Gobaira Arena. The Cañeros will have Jeison Colomé and Diego Colón, while the Metros will have Juan Guerrero and Jhery Matos in their ranks, awaiting the debut of Omar Silverio.
On Wednesday the 14th, the Indios de San Francisco de Macorís will face the Marineros de Puerto Plata in the Mario Ortega Pavilion at 8:00 PM. That same day, the Leones de Santo Domingo will play the Soles del Este at the Club Mauricio Báez at 8:30.
The Indians will have Luismal Ferreiras and are awaiting the return of Edgar Sosa, as well as the incorporation of Juan Miguel Suero. The Mariners will have Jonathan Bello and Anderson Mirambeaux.
The Lions, for their part, will have Eloy Vargas, Jaison Valdez and Jonathan Aybar. The Soles will bet on youth with Daylin Thomas and Luis Martínez Ogando.
The quality of the reinforcements is guaranteed, with players like Trahson Burrell (Leones) and Walt Lemon Jr. (Reales).
Season Format
The regular season will consist of 14 games for each team. The top six will advance to the “Elimination Phase”, where they will play 10 matches, two against each rival. The top four teams will advance to the semi-final series, which will be played in a best-of-five format. The “Grand Final” will be a best-of-seven.
