Dodgers Announce Rotation for World Series Start

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced their pitching rotation for the first two games of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, as confirmed by manager Dave Roberts. Blake Snell will start Game 1 on Friday, followed by Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2. This decision replicates the pitching order used by the Dodgers in the first two games of the National League Championship Series, where they swept the Milwaukee Brewers. Snell shined in Game 1 with 10 strikeouts in eight scoreless innings. Yamamoto pitched a complete game in Game 2, the first for the Dodgers in the postseason since 2004. For Games 3 and 4, which will be played at Dodger Stadium, Roberts indicated that Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani could be the starters.

I think we’re going to repeat the same rotation, for sure for the first two games.

Ohtani, who was named MVP of the National League Championship Series, had 10 strikeouts and hit three home runs in Game 4. The Dodgers’ starting pitchers combined for 35 strikeouts in the series against the Brewers, with an ERA of 0.63 between Snell, Yamamoto, Glasnow, and Ohtani. Roberts also mentioned that they are analyzing the bullpen configuration, considering the Blue Jays’ lineup, which includes powerful right-handed hitters. Tanner Scott, who was removed from the roster for the National League Division Series, is eligible for the World Series roster after surgery. Roberts indicated that they are evaluating his physical condition.
