Noah Caluori, 19, to the English Rugby Selection: Called up for training
Noah Caluori, the young talent from Saracens, has been called up to train with the England national team ahead of the upcoming autumn international matches. Caluori, 19, had a stellar performance on Saturday, scoring five tries in Saracens’ victory over Sale Sharks in his first start in the Gallagher PREM. His impressive performance has earned him a meteoric rise, being included as an additional player in the 36-player training squad. Although it remains to be seen whether Caluori will be on the final list that Steve Borthwick will confirm for the four-match test program next Sunday, his rise has been remarkable. On the other hand, Tom Willis, Saracens’ number 8, has not been called up, as he will join Bordeaux-Begles next season, making him ineligible to play for England. Owen Farrell, who returned to Saracens after a difficult season at Racing 92, has also not been included. Farrell stepped away from the England national team after the 2023 Rugby World Cup and is focusing on regaining his best form at Saracens. Borthwick has rewarded Leicester’s Adam Radwan and Bath’s Henry Arundell with call-ups. Both wingers, known for their speed, hope to have the opportunity to prove their worth this autumn, when England faces Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and Argentina. Emeka Ilione, number 8 from Leicester, has also been called up due to injuries to Ben Curry and Tom Curry, and the absence of Willis. Max Ojomoh from Bath and Seb Atkinson from Gloucester (due to injury) were also called up.
