The five most important European leagues have reached an agreement to synchronize the closing of their transfer windows, unifying the deadline for the registration of signings.
Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 clubs will have until 7 p.m. (UK time) to formalize their transfers on deadline day.
This summer, two special periods are established to allow clubs to make moves before the FIFA Club World Cup.
The first window will open on June 1st and close on June 10th, followed by a second window that will end on September 1st. The main window will start on June 16th in England and July 1st in the other leagues.
Although the leagues have always closed their windows on the same day, in the past the schedule extended until the night, which generated the possibility that clubs would lose players without being able to replace them immediately.
Previously, the Bundesliga used to close its window at 5 p.m. (UK time), Serie A at 7 p.m., Ligue 1 at 10 p.m., the Premier League at 11 p.m. and LaLiga at 11.59 p.m.
Now, the leagues have agreed to unify their schedules for both the summer and winter windows, establishing a closing time early in the evening.
This synchronization also gives clubs adequate time to complete transfers after submitting a term sheet.
A deal sheet provides additional time to finalize a transfer that is being processed near the deadline. It is used to indicate that an agreement has been reached and can only be submitted in the last two hours of the window. Once the deadline has passed, clubs have an additional two hours to submit all documentation.
