Tel Aviv derby suspended due to disturbances

The anticipated Tel Aviv derby between Hapoel and Maccabi was suspended on Sunday due to violent clashes between the supporters of both teams. The police recommended the suspension of the Israeli Premier League match, scheduled to be played at Bloomfield Stadium, shared by both clubs, after incidents were reported before the start of the match. The match was canceled after the riots.

Following the police’s decision, it was determined that the Tel Aviv derby will not take place tonight.

Maccabi Statement
This situation arises days after the Birmingham Safety Advisory Group decided not to allow Maccabi fans to enter the Europa League match against Aston Villa next month.
