La Ciénaga y Reales del Caliche Destacan en el Torneo de Baloncesto
Santo Domingo, RD – In an exciting Sunday, the teams of La Ciénaga and Reales del Caliche achieved their third victory in the III Basketball Tournament of Second Division “José Heredia Castillo” (Corporancito), which awards the Seaboard “Clean Energy” Cup. The matches took place in the sports center of Huellas del Siglo.Both La Ciénaga and Reales del Caliche have demonstrated great performance, accumulating a 3-2 record. This positions them in second place in the table in group B, only 0.5 games behind the leaders, Los Pioneros and Deportivo La Fe, who have also shown an excellent level with a 3-1 record.
The tournament is structured into two groups of six teams each. Only the top two from each group will advance to the semifinals, where they will face each other to compete for the championship.
Match Results
La Ciénaga logró una victoria ajustada sobre Los Pioneros con un marcador de 83-81. Jean Severino lideró la ofensiva con 20 puntos y 6 rebotes. Alejandro Tatis contribuyó con 15 puntos. Antonio López y Brailin Canela destacaron con dobles-dobles, anotando 15 puntos y capturando 10 rebotes cada uno.

In another exciting match, Reales del Caliche defeated Deportivo La Fe with a score of 94-80. Robert De Jesús was the key figure with 30 points. Wilbert Carmona achieved a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Alán Rosario contributed 17 points and Engel Santana achieved a triple-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.
For Deportivo La Fe, Kelvin Arias scored 36 points and 11 rebounds, while Wilson De la Cruz contributed 17 points and Ángel Chalas, 12.

The tournament is organized by the Asociación de Baloncesto del Distrito Nacional (Abadina), under the presidency of Colonel Diego Pesqueira, spokesperson for the National Police. The general coordination is in charge of Edwin Castillo (Tatico), and the technical direction is the responsibility of Carlos Gerónimo.

The competition continues this Tuesday with the last day of the regular season, with two exciting matches at the San Carlos club’s sports center. At 6:30 in the evening, Honduras del Oeste and María Auxiliadora will face each other, followed by the match between Los Pioneros and Deportivo La Fe at 8:00.
