The Cleveland Guardians have made important decisions on their roster, sending shortstop Brayan Rocchio to Triple-A Columbus and calling up outfielder Will Brennan from the same category.
Brennan, 27, is set to debut in the 2025 season after demonstrating good performance in Triple-A, where he batted .304 with three home runs and 18 RBIs in 35 games. In his previous three seasons with the Guardians, Brennan averaged .270 with 14 home runs and 79 RBIs in 263 games.
On the other hand, Rocchio, 24, had a complicated start to the season, batting only .165 with eight RBIs in 35 games with the Guardians. His last game was last Wednesday. Gabriel Arias was Cleveland’s starting shortstop in the three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Last season, Rocchio batted .206 with eight home runs and 36 RBIs in 143 games with the Guardians. In his career, he averages .205 in 201 games, all with the Cleveland team.
